Network with journalists

Create a spreadsheet of journalists and bloggers who cover your industry. Include all their contact details. Send an email to them, sharing your story, and offer to be a source for their stories/articles moving forward. Prove your expertise in your message. You’ll quickly become highly valuable to them, and they won’t say no. This will not only help you get covered by the media but is also a way to establish yourself as a thought leader in your industry.

Attend Industry Events

Going to industry events and conferences is a great way to network and build relationships with other professionals. Many times these events offer speaking opportunities, which you should definitely accept in order to build your authority as an expert in your industry. Not sure which events to attend? Follow bloggers and journalists in your industry and see what events they are attending. Attend those!

Offer exclusive content

Reach out to bloggers or publications in your industry, and offer them exclusive content. Some examples of what you could offer them are industry reports, surveys, and interviews. These are very powerful PR tools.

Leverage influencer marketing

This strategy is not totally free. Offer influencers in your industry, exclusive content, product samples, sample services, etc. When selecting the influencers to work with, choose those who have a strong following in your industry, and who match your brand’s voice and tone.

This can help you get free PR by distributing your press releases to journalists and bloggers. You’ll reach very large audiences easily and increase your chances of getting media coverage.

Make sure to write your press releases in a clear and concise manner. Include relevant information that will make bloggers and journalists want to write a story on it.

A solid press kit is key for Free PR. It should include your brand’s story, background information, pictures, videos, and press releases.

Make sure all images and videos you include in the press kit are high quality. Also add detailed information about your brand, products, and/or services.

Your press kit should easy to access, download and share.

Utilize Your Customer Reviews or Testimonials

Ask your satisfied customers or clients to share their experiences with your brand, services, or products. Use their review in your marketing materials, landing pages, press releases, etc.
